OK, so I consider myself a fairly open-minded and tolerant person musically. I am known as a "metal" dude, but I have equal love for punk, indie rock, post-hardcore, wussy post-rock, hip-hop, Delta blues, world music, etc. I love all music, truly and honestly. Except for fucking Brokencyde. I have always had that one band that I just absolutely love to fucking hate. At first, it was Hawthorne Heights. Then it was Neutral Milk Hotel but now Brokencyde takes the Hatorade Taco. I just became aware of their existence and I was truly better off without it. I'd rather be fucked by a bull with its dick on fire; I'd rather be dipped in pig shit, than listen to this garbage for more than five minutes. Goddamn this shit sucks.At first I thought "okay, this may just be a joke. It sucks donkey balls, but they may just be trying to be funny". And then, I saw what these motherfuckers look like:  Hello. i'm never one to hate on music that others enjoy. i listen to some really bizarre shit myself. i first heard of Brokencyde maybe a year ago when the hate started up. I thought everyone was being uppity bitchy elitists for bashing a band. If you don't like it then just don't listen to it. No reason to whine about it. Then I heard a Brokencyde song and I became very angry that a band that shitty exists. I don't know what came over me. I thought surely it was a joke and then I saw an interview with them whining that everyone is hating on them and not giving them a chance. The guys said "come see a live show and I GURANTEE we will convert you". I pulled up a video of them live and the fuckers had this cheap ass basement like set up on stage with strobe lights. For reasons I can not explain this bands existence makes me furious. AND the fact that they are succesful enough to spawn off little clone bands like Blood On The Dance Floor

They're apparently "crunk-core" which is basically a mix of crunk and screamo, which sounds as appealing as a gravel dildo in your ear canal. |

Actually, that was bogus it seems. The reason they came in my radar is, I was reading an article about Brendan Kelly (singer for The Lawrence Arms, a band I really like) and he was making fun of them, so I checked them out. He was defending them in the sense that he thinks their music is fucking terrible, but that it wasn't cool to make them out to be criminals.

I dont get it.
We played a show with them at Evansville.....They weren't even signed yet..they still had a good 40 kids there specifically to see them.......it's beyond me how they took off.......They fucked up the PA so it took 45 min and our guitarist to fix and the entire time they just kept telling everyone "YO YO YO YO HOl on er'e BODY...itsa Gon get KrUnK reaaaal Soonnn"
We stayed for 5 min of their set and left..... It's not my place to say another artist that their music is shit............but their music is shit.

I'll admit it, I went and saw them at bulldogs about a year ago. I don't remember what locals were on it, I was there to support somebody (it was a metal band of all things, and they were opening for brokencyde. not kidding.) The great thing about seeing brokencyde at bulldogs? You couldn't hear vocals at all. I essentially just went to a dance party.  |
