Ok then, if a venue doesn't have a liquor license, how do they make money and pay the band. What is fair? Would charging a hall rental fee be fair? or would collecting a certain amount of the door money be fair? If the venue is to collect door money and not charge the band any money, what incentive is there for the band to bring their crowd. Pay to play sounds lame I agree, but it takes money to make money

I think you have the idea of the thread a little confused.


This is about a "promotion" company that basically rips off the bands that are willing to let it happen and not a venue.

You have the hall rental at most places, how that is covered varies with every show.
