I know, we all hate Gorilla. Found this so the next dbag, who wants to get ripped off, and his band be fucked by gorilla, makes a self righteous post... we can show him this one. And be done with it from here on out. http://neverpaytoplay.com/Gorilla/&GorillaBOTB.htm

I find it amusing a attorney is using a .yahoo address?
My family makes less than 40k a year and i have a ISP addy.....
I can say though....gosh nearly 20 years ago playing the car show battle of the bands....what did we pay in cash then, like $100? I have those shows on VHS and they weere neat but i knew what i was getting into. All we had to do was bring out guitars/bass and jam and it was 3 songs.
If they did it that way, ok i can understand but they (Gorilla) dont.
When they messaged Incursion i just laughed and sent them a pretty cold message....If they ever message 9 it will be even more cold.
In legal terms that Attorney is called a "Bottom Feeder"

I tried to tell a new band here in Grayson about them, they are all in High school and will be playing the 16th. They said they didn't care, just wanted to get their music heard.....um, ok...there are other ways to get your music heard.
WITHOUT being scammed.

Yea, they got us in Inner Blue. It was one of the first few shows they did here. I've never in my life seen Joey Goldsmith get so irate as he did those fuck holes. We had like 3 tickets unaccounted for and they told us we weren't playing. We ended up winning that piece of shit and we told them to cram it up their dickholes. So they gave it to another band.
A few short months later they asked us to play again. Needless to say, they had a nasty little response in their inbox.

You should have not played and then filed suit against them. That would basically prove the pay to play charge. also since when does Rock X records qualify as a major label.

also since when does Rock X records qualify as a major label. Most peoples' eyes glaze over when you just say "record label is interested". Doesn't matter if record label is Billy Bob working out of his mom's attic. It's a record label. Erego, institutions such as Gorrila can use that as a very meaty carrot on a stick to attract all kinds of people chasing the pipe dream of being signed. Because a lot of people think being signed equals super fame and playing sold out stadiums. I encourage everyone to watch the movie Anvil, it is an eye opener on what most bands go through even if they are signed.

Anvil was a good movie, and funny thing was I actually saw them at Bogarts around 87. But then again I have seen Grim Reaper there and Raven. hehe.

What's ironic is, you don't get a goddamn thing out of it. First off, it's a "battle of the bands". The people that are there are there to cheer their respective bands, and they could give a fuck about anyone else. Grinstead won one of their supposed "battles" and we didn't get a damn thing out of it. This was a few years ago, during their first battle, so we didn't know any better. Auspiciously, we got a call from a "management agency" offering their services for a hefty fee shortly after. They assured us they would absolutely get our music heard but we got a shady vibe and told them to fuck off. Not surprised if they are related to Gorilla. So, it's incredibly naive to think you're going to spread your music to people. No one is going to care, so you're just getting reamed for absolutely no good reason.
